GIN & TONIC & PASSING TRAINS

COLLABORATION WITH SPIKE THEATRE
COMMISSIONED BY TRAMWAY (GLASGOW)
WINNER: LIFE! THEATRE BEST ACTOR AWARD (SINGAPORE)

A visual, classic tale of one man who has too much time on hands and the question of how to fill it.

With nothing for company other than his thoughts and the sound of trains rushing past, Mr Jones feels a little trapped in his damp, rickety signal box. Soon the loneliness, the responsibilities and the endless sounds of bells are driving him to distraction and to start to view life through the bottom of a bottle…

What starts as a tipple at four turns into a torrent at eight and by ten there is more than one spirit in front of his eyes!

Influenced by Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story ‘The Signalman’ and performed against an original musical score, this darkly comic tale will leave you in no doubt that Gin and Trains do not make the perfect tonic.
